California State Data

California Hospital Inpatient Discharge Data is acquired through the State of California Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development. Data acquisition is handled by the California Healthcare Information Division. California contains over 500 hospitals, and as such, their discharge data makes up a large percentage of the nation as a whole.

Current Time Periods:

2008-01-01 to 2008-12-31

2009-01-01 to 2009-12-31

2010-01-01 to 2010-12-31

Known/Documented Data Issues:

1) Due to changes in the file format and structure of CA hospital data outputs, certain specific details were missing from the file. These details, specifically discharge date, made the AHRQ measure calculations impossible for Calendar Years 2011 and 2012.

Resolutions to Data Issues:

1) No resolution has been made at this point. Currently AHRQ measures for CA after 2010 have not been calculated
